I also think the story would’ve been much cooler if he found a human girl in the new world. Beautifully written.This book was an amazing book. The story was new and original. The problems the ensued Mark were interesting to see the least. Mark became a very efficient survivor when he was transported to Transall. He falls through the light and ends up in an odd world where everything is red. Now Mark musMark is just an average guy enjoying a camping trip in the desert. To get back to his own time, he must make a life within the world.

It was very fun to read and it just kept me engaged the whole time. This was a great story that I would recommend to anyone. There are massive plot holes in this book the further in you get.

The characters, the setting, the suspenseful plot, it all made this book impossible to put down. Even when Mark got hurt, luck was still I really enjoyed this book -- but then, I've really enjoyed all the books by Gary Paulsen that I've read, be it as a kid/teenager or adult. I think I remember him finding a coke bottle but maybe I'm confusing this with Planet of the Apes or something.

It contained many Twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. But when a warring tribe plans on attacking the village, Mark warns the town and fights of the invaders and is promoted to a warrior.So this is the one book of 22 that I didn't end up finishing for my adolescent literature class. I think this is one of the earliest pieces of science fiction I read and it set the bar pretty high for everything else. Some things I didn’t like about the book were that there wasn’t a lot of time spent on Earth in the beginning of the book. All along everyone said that they had no idea how the blue light came about but if it was lightning then people would have noticed.

Mark must then defend him self from alien elements, and figure out the mystery of the strange primitive tribes that inhabit the world.

The adventure the main character goes on kept me glued to my seat back then. There are red plants.

If you are in middle school or like reading scientific fiction novels, then you should read this book to find out what happens to Mark.The book is very good as the story moves forward you become attached to the world and the people.
