Electric car maker Nio filed plans on Tuesday for an initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange, just as rival Tesla Nio is a China-based rival to Tesla founded in November 2014 under the name NextCar, changing to its current name in July 2017. The $150,000 Tesla’s model is relatively straightforward. NIO also worked hard to appear sporty and strong by competing in the Formula E and releasing the EP9 supercar as the world’s fastest electric car, setting the Nürburgring record in 2016. The NIO EP9 was introduced in October 2016 with a staggering top speed of 196 mph. The Tesla Roadster 2.0 arrives to the party boasting a sleek speed slab profile, while the Rimac incorporates far more details and curves. Each EP9 costs $1.2 million to make so prices are likely to be astronomical. XING Mobility says it has adapted the liquid to keep its battery packs cool.
